The Technology Centre achieves ISO 50001:2011 Energy Management Certification

VINCI Construction UK’s Technology Centre, has successfully completed certification to ISO Energy Management Systems 50001:2011.

This standard supersedes BS EN 16001 for which the Technology Centre was one of the first organisations to achieve certification.

Certification to this standard demonstrates that we are serious about continuing to reduce our energy consumption and carbon emissions both in-house and for our customers.

We have achieved cumulative savings of over £100k and a Carbon reduction of 521 tonnes since we began our energy reduction programme.

The standard demonstrates that the Technology Centre can develop on its existing energy policy and set objectives for management systems in line with legal and regulatory requirements. It provides recommendations and guidance on energy management systems and outlines how to put in place processes to reduce their carbon footprint.

Commenting on the achievement, David Kerr, Energy Consultant at the Technology Centre said,

“We’re immensely proud of obtaining this standard which will not only improve our energy performance but also help to save money for ourselves and our customers. It is imperative that we prioritise the need to reduce our carbon footprint, to lead by example and work with our customers to do the same.”
