Headline M4 Corridor project win for VINCI Technology Centre

Principal Consultant and CDM specialist at Technology Centre Peter Darkins, has been appointed to the role of Principle Design Coordinator on the M4 Corridor around Newport project. The role will support the Costain/VINCI Joint Venture team in ensuring compliance with the CDM 2015 regulations.

Technology Centre Director , Dr Russell Matthews commented , this appointment demonstrates Peter’s vast experience in this field and our teams broad expertise across all aspects of construction.

The Welsh Government has awarded the Costain/VINCI Joint Venture (50% Costain and 50% VINCI, represented by Taylor Woodrow and VINCI Construction Grands Projets), the first stage of an ECI (Early Contractor Involvement) contract for the M4 Corridor to the south of the city of Newport. This new 24 km long section of motorway includes a 2.5 km long viaduct and cable-stayed bridge above the river Usk, two key interchanges and 36 structures.

This £750 million project will help deliver government aims to improve infrastructure in Wales by making it more efficient, safer and more sustainable.
